Kim Kyung Ju was born in Gwangju, Jeollanam-do, Korea in 1976 and studied Philosophy at Sogang University〔”김경주 KIM Kyung Ju” in Cordite Poetry Review: http://cordite.org.au/author/kim_kyung_ju/〕 He made his formal debut in 2003 in the Seoul Shinmun Spring Literary Contest. While he started out as a "classic" poet, he has changed his focus to performance poetry, theater, musicals and independent films.
